    Hi friends
I would like to thank all my friends who responded to my query recently about output file compression. Last night I succeeded to get a 3 sec 640×480 composition rendered as quick time file with a size of 1.5 MB.

Note that composition had two 3D layers and a couple of light layers as well, so I guess this is not a bad deal at all. I used Sorenson compression options without audio settings. Just telling all this so that you may help doing some sort of fine tuning.

All was fine until then, but when I tried to import this Quicktime movie in FlashMX2004, using Soreson Spark default codec, the result was not showing the same nice and smooth resolution as I had seen it Quicktime stand alone player.

I can’t figure out why this happened when I have the same dimensions 640×480 in both Quicktime movie and flash file. I then tried one more variation and got AE rendered output with Lossless setting in AVI format with around 76MB file size and then imported the same again in Flash, but it brought no difference.

    Thanks in advance

Different Codecs give different results. QT is hard to beat.

For Flash MX 2004, try Sorenson Squeeze, the pro codec is much better than Spark. The new Flash 8 (demo version available) has the new VP6 codec, a big improvement over either Sorenson Codecs. Check it out. Lee Brimelow over at the Cow Flash forum is a Flash video guru, ask questions there, lots of FLV tuts too.
