  Camera coming up as black screen

  Hi Guys,

  Got a problem with a set-up. Place I work has just bought Wirecast and is trying to connect their Blackmagic Cinema Camera to it via thunderbolt to use for live streaming.

  I installed the drivers for the camera and Wirecast has it in the add source menu but when I add it it comes up black. Camera is on and showing something, works with media express and ultrascope, but not in wire cast.

  I’m using a brand new macbook with OSX 10.8.3, Wirecast version 4.3. Camera is set to ProRes 25fps as is wirecast and all other inputs work.

  Any thoughts??

  I had talked to Blackmagic about this awhile back. They’d have to make a driver to support it so they said at the time.

  You should certainly be able to use the camera’s SDI out and go into the Mac with a Blackmagic UltraStudio MiniRecorder.

  BTW I’d strongly recommend staying current.
