  Is Keyframing really the solution?

  Hi.

  I’m keyframing some footage of a bat flying towards the screen. Unfortunately there’s a branch in the way.

  

  Other than keyframing the branch out frame by frame, does anybody recommend another technique?

  I’ve tried using Colorama to ramp up the greys and browns, etc, but so far no luck.

  (The background is simple to remove, it’s just the branch)

  Does anybody have any ideas? I’d appreciate it before I spend two days straight doing keyframing!

  I’d use the rotobrush. Here’s an older tutorial showing the basics, there are newer ones out there that get into the more advance newer features.

  If the camera is locked down then the Difference Matte effect may help you. You’ll probably still need to do some roto work but it might give you enough for some good edge details.
