Linking a Null Object w/ an Adjustment layer
Hello. I’m trying to make a magnifying glass. I have the actual object in one layer. ***We’ll call this layer A***
I then created a second layer with the magnifying Effect. ***Layer B***
Last, I have my footage. ***Layer C***
What I’m trying to do is Link layer A & B with a Null so that I can move them at the same time. I want the footage to look like magnifying glass is looking around.
My PROBLEM: I can’t seem to figure out how to Link layer B with the Null. A will link fine, but any “generated effect” remains stationary.
Anyone know why this is and what I need to do to fix this?

What effects are you trying to link? Is it the magnify or others?

Just the magnifying effect.
Basically I have a magnifying glass with I cut out in Photoshop as one layer.
Then I have the adjustment layer under that with the magnify effect.
Basically I want to link those two with a Null so I don’t have to key frame both layers.
The end rest I’m looking for is the magnifying glass passing over my footage as if it’s looking for clues.
I’ll try and grab a screen shot if you think that’ll make it easier to understand.

OK well if parenting the lawyer to the null doesn’t work, if you open the effect options, the magnify effect has a center control. Alt click the stop watch, and parent the x y values to the null xy values
