  • Select layers with same name?

    Hi all,

    Here’s my problem…

I have several hundred symbols as sublayers in layer 1. All the symbols are either Symbol 1’s, Symbol 2’s or Symbol 3’s. I want to split all the symbols into just 3 layers (layer 1 for symbol 1’s, layer 2 for symbol 2’s etc..) The thing is, is there all mixed up. How to I select all Symbol 1’s so i can move the layer order without having to go through and select each one individually?

    thanks in advance.

    Select a symbol and try..
Select > Same > Symbol Instance.

Also, once an item or items is selected, in the Layers palette, a selected item indicator appears on the right side of the layer. It’s a small colored square. You can click and drag this indicator to the desired layer. This will move all items that are currently selected.
