  Re-Create a Solid Circular Wash-On effect

  I’m trying to recreate the effect where a white solid is washed over the black one, with what looks like a bunch of circles to fill the frame, but each circle looks like it has some kind of gradient applied.

  A reference image or video of what you’re trying to achieve would clarify greatly.
