  Masking object inside outline type

  Hello, i have a series of lines that i would like to mask inside type that was converted to outline. How is this done, i tried but only one character of the type would mask. When i group all i get is a white background. Help!!

  Select all of the expanded text and Object / Compond Path / Make, then it will work as expected, as a single clipping mask.
