  Export illustrator file to exact dimensions

  I have an illustrator document with the art-board size at 1000×1000 px and I need it to be exactly that but when I export as a png, it exports at ~ 4000×4000 px, even if I tick “use art-boards.” What is the problem and how do I fix it?

  Are you exporting at screen resolution (72dpi)?
