  Illustrator automatically creates groups within symbols

  Hello.
  I have a symbol with several layers within it.
  Whenever I leave outside the symbol, and come back to it, Illustrator automatically groups the layers.
  Illustrator keeps repeating the process, that I have groups embedded with groups upon groups, and it’s really annoying to delete them.
  What is causing this, and what is the solution to permanently get rid of the grouping?
