    Hi all

I’m a noob to Illustrator, and fairly new to After Effects too, and I have an existing 2D company logo image in various formats (TIFF, PNG) that I want to be able to turn into a 3D image that I can extrude and otherwise modify in AE. I understand that to do this, you need to first create an outline of the image in Illustrator, and then convert the image in AE to a vector based shape.

As I am starting off with a pre-made image, I have tried tracing the image in Illustrator to give it that outline. But Im missing something obviously, because when I bring that image into AE and attempt to create a vector shape with it, AE can’t do it, and responds with an error message.

So if anyone can tell me what I’m missing in the above process, that would be awesome!
