Hey folks, I am trying to figure out how to recreate this pattern so I can use it for my own projects. I tried tracing one of the stylized flower petals and then doing an effect > distort & transform and playing with the angles and point of distortion, but I didn’t get anywhere and was hoping there might be an established MO (or you might be able to help me find one)

I uploaded the image for your consideration. Would really appreciate any help on this.

Here’s the pattern, I pushed the contrast for visibility, and 2x the image so you can see the pattern better

    So the question becomes threefold:

    1) Am I correct in thinking that this was constructed through one petal and then distort&transform effect applied?

    2) How does the flower have what looks to be separate strokes, but a monochromatic circular center?

    3) Any idea on how the second pattern (some kind of apple) is created?

    Thanks!
