    Gooday,

I’ve got to use pages from a PDF in an After Effects project, but in AE I can only import Illustrator files. So I have to convert them from the PDF to .ai

Question is if there’s a quicker way of doing this, since it’s a 70 page pdf..?

    thanks

You’re trying to reverse a typical workflow.
Maybe you could Acrobat: Document/Extract Pages as Separate Files. Then if you’re on a Mac you could likely set up a job with Automator to batch all of the files to AI.
I haven’t done this for PDF to AI, but I have done batch DOC to PDF.

So what is the problem? You can open PDF files in AI just fine.

You can also rename a .PDF file to .AI and it “becomes” and AI file and opens just fine in AI. Select the page to open, and save it as AI.

    Is that hard?

Whoops!! Forgot to get back to this thread.
No it’s not hard. It’s just time consuming. Had a lot to do other than opening the PDF file at the right page and resave it as an AI.
    Done by now though..
