Hi, new to illustrator doing most things in p/shop. I need to prepare a bunch of text ready for a laser cutter to use to cut out the letters as stencils.

So, I know I need to create outlines. Then on certain letters I need to add bridges(so the hole in the o for instance doesn’t fall out). I tried to do this by drawing two thin rectangles but what I need to do is use these rectangles to separate the letter, effectively creating two seperate shapes, ie, the top of the o and the bottom of the o. Does this make sense? I’m sure it’s a really easy thing to do but I’m missing it.

    Please help

Sorry but it doesn’t for me. Maybe you could illustrate in PS (or even a pencil sketch) of what are you trying to do.
