New file opens as black locked background layer
So Photoshop CC 2018 has been working very well for months, even until last night (Please don’t tell me to update it, I am comfortable with CC 2018).
But now, when I create a new file, it opens as a locked black background layer.
THIS ONLY HAPPENS WHEN I OPEN THE FILE AS A GRAYSCALE FILE. (why??)Whenever I try to do things on it, such as fill tool or brush tool, it says “Could not _____ because of a program error”.
I cannot even add a new layer, everything but “Artboard from layers” is grayed out.
I have made sure that the file is normal, I set the background color as white, etc. Size of file does not matter.
The name of the newly-created file is set as “____ @ 33.3% (Gray/1#) * “.
When I quick export the file as a png, it does nothing.I even reset all of my preferences via Ctrl+Shift+Alt, and it still does this!
How do I fix this?
