  • ExtendScript – How to get Text Layer Italic property?

I’m looking for the code I could use in a script I’m writing that will check a text layer to see if it is ‘syntheticItalic’.
I have found no examples of code that will query a layer and return a specific properties value.

Once I can get this figured out, I will then use the result to toggle it to the opposite setting. I have the script in place to set the text layer to italic or not, but I can’t find a simple way to check the current state of the text layer.

End result will be a script that goes through all the text layers in a file and makes normal text ‘faux italic’ and ‘faux italic’ text normal. Uh… yeah this is for a subtitling workflow.

    Any suggestions are much appreciated!
