  Smart Object

  Hi 🙂
  Question:
  In photoshop cs6 or cc2015.5, adding a new layer. Then i place a jpg or jpeg on top of it. As soon as i click accept or hit enter it turns in to a SMART object. Why is that ? I don’t want my layers to be smart objects unless i make them smart objects. How can i avoid this ? Please help.
