I hope someone can help this Photoshop newbie out. 🙂

To put is as briefly as possible, I’m a (very) amateur photographer, and I use Photoshop to edit and save my images.

I have set my color settings in PS (edit/color settings) to ProPhotoRGB.

So, I import my camera images, edit them in PS until they look exactly how I want them, then save them as normal. Trouble is, after I save them and view them in other image viewers (FastStone, ACDsee, InfanView etc.) the colors are a little washed out. I can’t figure out why my saves images don’t look the same as the image does in Photoshop.

I’ve read a few articles on Color Profiling, and I’m not sure exactly where I’m going wrong here.

Could some kind soul please explain to me in layman’s terms what it is I’m doing wrong?

    Thanks.

    Simon.

The issue could be that the programs that aren’t Photoshop are using a CMYK color-space instead of the RGB you’re using.
