I have an access problem. I recently upgraded my Power Mac G5, dual drive, with more RAM and now there are several things that do not work well. I had two 512 mb RAM and he added three more pairs of 1 gig each to make 7 gig. I’m thinking this was the worst investment I’ve ever made! PS does not let me see any menu items so I can’t adjust or add a filter to a file, for example. Actually, I can’t to anything. All the menus are gray. Have you ever heard of this problem before?

I would welcome any ideas! Susan

This has nothing to do with RAM

Menus get grayes out when you have an image open that can’t be processed (for exampel certain commands aren’t avaialble to 16 bit or CMYK images)

Thank you for answering. My mystery remains, but not the problem. My file is in RBG mode and 8 bits. However, after opening and closing it several times, finally all the menu items appeared so I was able to add filters and adjust the picture. I don’t know what I did to make it work. I hope that that the problem doesn’t persist!
