edit— just realized that encoder is importing at the incorrect frame rate of 2997. How can I get it to interpret it correctly?

Hello. I have exported a jpeg sequence at 23.976fps. When I import it into encoder, it defaults it to “match source” and it has a grayed out frame rate of 2997. I uncheck the box, set it to 23.976 and render to h264 but the file is coming out at what is clearly a higher frame rate, most likely 29.97, judging by the difference over time.

I have rechecked the jpeg sequence by importing directly into AE and it lists it at the correct frame rate and is in sync the entire project.

I have done this plenty of time before, I am not sure what the issue is. Thanks for help

“There is a new preference, Indeterminate Media Timebase, under Edit > Preferences > Media that you can use to set the frame rate for sources without an inherent time base, such as image sequences.”
