I shot a photo that needs to be inserted in a Pagemaker document.

The original file size of the jpg is 2.5 mb.

It’s far too large to be inserted in the doc, so I brought it into PS to somehow reduce the size.

The image size is set to width, 504 height, 360 pixels

Document size is width 7, height 5, inches
    Resolution 72

How do I resize this thing so that the exported jpg won’t be so huge. It wont scale down properly in pagemaker.

    thanks

I might be competely wrong here, but if you’re using PageMaker, you’re creating a document that’s going out for print.
72dpi is really too small a resolution for print. If I remember correctly, print is usually more along the lines of 300dpi (depending on the medium, of course.)

Also, why not just save as TIFF with compression on? It’s often used in print, you get an alpha channel if you need it and you get lossless compression to boot.

    Hope this helps,
