So, I’m currently working on a Digital Imaging assignment that’s due at 8:15 tomorrow morning (it’s about 1:00 as I type this) and I’m stuck. Here are the directions:

    • Remove background from chameleon image.
    • Choose a separate image to use as a background that has multiple colors.
    • Move chameleon into new background image.
    • Work your Photoshop magic to blend the chameleon into the background using adjustment layers and masking.

You may not use the blending modes.

You may not reduce the opacity on the chameleon layer, which includes using grey tones on the mask.

Do not flatten your image or merge layers.

The rest is up to you.

This is the example my professor gave us:

The question is, how the heck do you do that without changing the opacity? Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.
