  Formula for determining png animation size?

  I’m trying to figure out a formula for determining how big an animation’s file size would be, either with or without alpha channels. I’m working with pretty small png sequences (like 16×16 and 8×8 pixels). I need to determine what the file size would be so that I can figure out how many frames of animation that I can use.

  Any help with this would be pretty great.

  Not sure how technical you want to get here, but here’s the APNG specs:

  I think the basics are: your intro chunks, plus outtro chunks, plus frame size times color depth times number of frames divided by relevant compression equals bits. Divide by 8 for bytes, then 1024 for kB, etc.
