Can you give the link to where you got the free brushes? I’ll try them out and make sure the problem isn’t the brushes. 🙂

Ok, so here’s what I did:

    Download and unzip the brushes.
    Launch Photoshop
Create a new file (I used Photoshop Default) and click the brush tool.
Go to the brushes palette, load your brush ABR file, select one of the brushes, and voila, it looks like it works.

The problem is likely a setting on your end or a problem with the download. Try downloading again?

Can you list the exact steps you took?

Seem to have fixed things for now it’s only happening with new brushes I have downloaded.the fix is to not load the brushes but to replace them ie only load the brush I need not add to the brushes already in my pallet
    Bug?

    Thanks for your help Steve…….

Steve, that’s a little odd. What version are you using? I’m on CS3 on this machine (its the one I tested it on). I haven’t tested CS6 (it’s at the office), but I add brushes at least every month to some degree and I haven’t seen that. Maybe talk to Adobe?

Make sure your plugins are loaded and have use a white background.
