ANY IDEAS? Changing the cloth color of multiple people in a crowded scene in which both the camera and the subjects are in motion?
we are working on a project in which we are shooting a crowded bar scene. Both the camera and the subjects are in constant motion. What we need to achieve is to change the cloths color of anyone in the scene when they take a sip from their drink. What do you think will be the best approach to film the scene in order to be able to achieve this effect the best way and with the least amount of pain for the crew? and it is just the cloths that change color, not the people themselves. whats the best way to light the scene? GreenBody suits? Any ideas?

Unless you want the people who are affected by the drink to wear the same color clothes before and then change to the same color after (in which case you can dress them all in the same color, something that it’s different from the rest of the colors in the shot, pull a color key and affect the individuals separately by using garbage mattes) you will need lot’s of roto work. Mocha seems like a good way to achieve this, with a combination of tracking and animated masks.

You might also want to take a look at Secondary Color Correction:
Color Finesse comes with AE, and has some pretty powerful secondary capabilities. You can change the color of a person’s shirt using it properly. The trick is going to be lighting and keeping the individuals somewhat separate, and (I would think) making sure they’re wearing solid colors, and not prints.
