  New document size issues… Never before?

  So this morning I tried to create a 500 x 500 rgb 8bit 72dpi document. And it appeared a bit rectangular, as opposed to square. When I go to image-> size, it says it is 500 x 500, a square.

  However, when I grab the marquee tool and set it to locked ratio at 1 to 1, my document is clearly NOT a square… I tried looking this up online but could not find anything…

  Any help would be amazing, thanks

  perhaps under VIEW, see if the “pixel aspect ratio correction” is turned on.
