  • AE CC2014 crashes 100% of the time when I adjust my workspace

Really strange issue here. I have had to set up a new user on my Mac. In my user account, everything is fine. In the new user account, After Effects will crash 100% of the time when I try to adjust anything in my workspace.

Anyone have ideas on why this would happen?

Here’s the steps I used to set everything up.

    • Created a new, admin user account on my Mac.
    • Opened AE and signed into the same CC account as what is on my main user.
    • Set up prefs in new user to match the current user identically (lots of screenshots to make sure everything was the same)
    • Copied the Modified Workspaces folder from my current user to new user (Users/USERNAME/Library/Preferences/Adobe/After Effects 13.2/Modified Workspaces)
    • Closed AE on current user
    • Switched users
    • Opened AE on new user

From this point, AE will crash on the new user if I do any of the following

    • Select a different workspace – even an AE preset workspace
    • Try to adjust the size of any panel in the interface (timeline, viewer, project, effects, etc)

Below are screenshots of the alert window and my system specs. I’ve also attached a txt file crash log. Any help on this would be amazing. Thanks everyone!

It’s certainly strange Dave. I’ve been using Yosemite since the day it launched and haven’t had a single issue until this. What’s melting my brain is that everything works fine in my original user account.

sounds like a permissions issue. You’ll have to delve deep into the permissions stuff to enable it under your account. chmod anyone? lol
also, it’s possible copying stuff over like that may have gotten corrupted.

HI, I’m having the same issue in CS6.

    It`s been driving me crazy.

I’m hoping you would have found a solution to it by now? I’d love to hear it.
