I am looking for a very clean way to cut people out in photoshop. We have high-res images of our anchors on a white background. The part I’m having trouble with is cutting out their hair to make it look…more real and less fake. Any ideas?

    Thanks

Eitehr dupicate a hicontrast channel or use caluclations to create a new one

Then adjust levels on the channel to create a good matte

Then use a command click ot load channel to make a slection

    Add a layer mask etc

THROUGOUGHLY covered with hands on exercises in both my Photoshop Books

A zippy way I find surprisingly effective is to choose a small brush with a soft edge and stiple in the background within the hair area with the clone tool.
