    Hi,

Until now I was used to working in PS7 on a desktop. Now I’ve switched to a new system: Photoshop CS on a laptop. Unfortunately, when I am in photoshop, the CTRL key has no effect. I have no idea why. It’s very annoying because of the shortcuts. Any idea why this could happen? My laptop has a French keyboard, may be there is a way to let Photoshop know that?

Even more anoying is this: When I go in Menu “edit… keyboard shortcuts”, I cannot enter new shortcuts. I can erase existing shortcuts, but I cannot enter new keys. I can use the mouse to press buttons such as “delete shortcut” or “add shortcut”, but I cannot enter anything in the empty fields. The keyboard just has no effect.

Any idea what is wrong? I wish it’s something I’m not doing right, because I really need some shortcuts.

    Thanks.

    All the best.

Does your Ctrl key work for other applications?(e.g. Ctrl N in explorer). Do the keybaord commands show up in the menus?

Yes CTRL works in other applications. In the notepad I print using CTRL P, and so on.

The shorcuts do appear in photoshop menus.
