I’m trying to get a clip to look like it is revolving around a sphere (2D). The sphere is masked, I plan on putting a mask on the clip’s frame so it disappears behind the sphere, but I haven’t gotten there yet due to a problem with Z-Depth. I’ve got the 3D switched on, moved the Z-Axis anchor point away from the clip and over to where the center of the sphere should be by using the Top View. When I view the rotation from the front view, the clip moves in the desireable path, but there is no Z-depth to the rotation. In other words, it looks like the clip moves from side to side, squeezing together at each end and then back the other way. What’s going on here? How do I get this clip to rotate, with Z-Depth, properly? I tried moving the axis waaaay far away just to see if this would do anything, but nothing happened.

    Any help is greatly appreciated

    Thanks,
    eric

Did you create a camera? Without a cam, the view is orthographic (no perspective). Create a cam and set the focal length you want.

I,m not exactly sure what all those terms mean, but I might be able to help with the rotation thing. 1) Try adding motion blur to the objects in your scene (make sure the master motion blur is on). 2) Try adding a point light beside your object to give the object a little glow. I’m relatively new to this so beyond that, I got nothin’. You might try adding a little camera motion to your scene, but I don’t know if that’ll work for what your wanting to do. Anyway hope you can get your problem solved.

You need to have the 3D checkbox selected for the 2D sphere artwork too. Then the rotated artwork will move behind it.

One more input is to check your hardware. I guess the problem might be to do with the Open GL Card.
