  Exporting from Illustrator to After Effects

  When I export my illustrator files to AE, then drag the layers to the composition assets panel, they all end up in one pile in the middle of the composition. How can I keep the files in their proper places without having them all go into one big pile in the center?

  You can import a layered Illustrator document as a composition, which gives you a composition with the Illustrator layers in place.
