    Hey CC crew,

Does anyone out there know if there a way to export X264 on PC. OS X can do it, but I can’t seem to find any X264 love on PC. Can someone point me in the right direction?

    Cheers,

    -Orme

that’s just the open source h.264 encoder. it enables multi-hexagonal subsampling. that’s about the only major difference. Adobe media encoder has a few options.

ffmpeg, Handbrake, vidcoder, etc use the X.264 encoder.

H.264 or AVC level 10 is the most mature that is still used, although h.265 is slowly gaining maturity for half the file size.

Yeah I just like that it doesn’t mess with the gamma and you don’t have fiddle with it so much. It just works.
