    Hi Everyone,

If someone can share their AE wisdom that would be much appreciated.

I am trying to add a trim path to a shape layer (circle) and then animate the ‘Start’ option so the circle starts with 100% solid color fill then finishes with 0% (which reveals a video underneath),

The issue I cannot figure out is that I want the trim path to reduce the fill clockwise e.g. as if a big hand of the clock was removing the fill in a clockwise motion. At the moment, it looks like it is following the stroke path to remove the fill of the circle.

Is there a setting that I am missing or am I using the right method?

    Cheers
    Chris

Trim path modifies the path itself, sweeping one endpoint along the path and leaving the ends open. This is easier to see if you apply a stroke to the shape layer.

When you fill the path, Ae squares off the open endpoints, connecting them directly with an imaginary boundary for the fill.

To do a clock wipe, you can either use the Radial Wipe effect on the shape layer, or you can keep trim path but turn off the fill and use a stroke whose width is set to the size of the ellipse path.

Cheers Walter! Radial Wipe has done the job.

    Thanks!
