Activity Forums Adobe After Effects Expressions Audio Volume Down at the end

  • Audio Volume Down at the end

    Hello. I have a composition with an audio file inside, I need the audio to automatically volume down at the last 1 or 2 seconds at the end, even if I change the composition end time.

    I’m guessing the expression would be at the waveform, related to the comp end time – 2 seconds, then begin a gradual volume down in the waveform, but I don’t really know how to do this.

    Any help?

    Something like this for Audio Levels:

    fadeDur = 2;
    fadeEnd = Math.min(outPoint,thisComp.duration);
    easeOut(time,fadeEnd-fadeDur,fadeEnd,value,[-192,-192])

    Thank you Dan, you are amazing.

    What “easeOut” alternatives are? It cuts the audio too abruptly even at 3 or 4 seconds, I need to make it smoother, like linear out?

    I mean, easeOut is suposed to smooth at the end but it’s too abrupt anyway, any way to make the leveling smoother?

    Instead of [-192,-192] try something upper value like [-48,-48]. It should be still enough to fade out the sounds, and it won’t be that ‘fast’ drop.

    Yes, -45,-45 works pretty nice. Thank you both!
