  • Check for layer visibility, not opacity.

    Hello and thank you all for reading this post, I’ve done some research and I can’t seem to find what Im looking for. Basically, I want to have “Layer01” opacity be determined by whether “Layer02” eye icon is on or off. Is there a way to check for this ?

    this should detect if Layer02 is active and set the opacity value to 100 if it is and 0 if it is not.

    if ( thisComp.layer(“Layer02”).active ) 100 else 0;

    Layer.enabled gives you the status of the eyeball.

    Layer.active tells you if the eyeball is on and the current time is between the layer’s In Point and the Out Point. Subtle difference, but important in some cases.
