Moving object in a rotating manner
Posted by Kevin Tanner on January 20, 2018 at 9:10 amHi guys,
Appreciate some help here.
How to create a expression for a square to move around the video in a rotating circular manner.

January 20, 2018 at 12:40 pmNo need for an expression. You can parent the square to a null that acts as the center of rotation and rotate the null.

January 20, 2018 at 2:22 pmThanks for your suggestion but I need to apply this to multiple videos of different width and height. I think it will be easier if I can do this in expression. Basically a square which is moving randomly around the video in a rotating manner.
I have added “timer*40” to rotation property of the square and now the issue is I want to move it around the video.

January 20, 2018 at 4:16 pmNow you got me confused. Do you want a circular motion or a random motion around the video?
If random, try a wiggle expression on the position. The motion you get from it is pretty smooth.
Something like
wiggle(.2, 500)Kalleheikki Kannisto

Trying to achieve something similar to this with expression but a more smoother and steadier movement.
