  Change text based on Color Map

  I’m looking to make a block of text but in a “paint-by-numbers” sense I want to use a map and make the darkest values be a “$” for example and the lightest values to be a “/” for example. Similar to the images/emojis created from keyboard characters. But I basically want to be able to create an animated black and white map that would be made out of different characters rather than values.

  So basically you’re looking for a frame by frame ASCII converter in After Effects..
