  thisComp.layer("Controll").effect("Particle amount / kill")("Slider")

  thisComp.layer("edit").transform.scale[0]

  It depends on how you want them to work together, but it might be as simple as something like this:

  
s = thisComp.layer("Controll").effect("Particle amount / kill")("Slider");
s + thisComp.layer("edit").transform.scale[0]
