  identify custom effect control from script

  I need a way to identify what type of Effect Control a custom control is from scripting.
  For regular controls I get the matchName property to see if it’s a Slider, Checkbox, etc.
  But for PSEUDO custom controls, the matchName returns a custom name.
  Is there another property that identifies the type of AE control it is?
