I have 4 seperate text layers which I am trying to control from a single layer.
I can update the text by using a marker on every layer, but I need to be able to place 4 markers on a different layer and then update the 4 seperate text layers from them.

Any ideas on how to approach this?

The text layer expression would need to be able to identify which marker to reference. If the text layers are layers 1 through 4, you could do it like this:

    thisComp.layer(“controls”).marker.key(index).comment

    That worked like a charm!

Unless you specifically want to use markers, you could also keyframe the Source Text value on one layer and then link the others to it.
