  How do i get rid of those red text layer handles?

  My problem is illustrated in the above link but here goes… Those big red rectangles that suuround a text layer are getting in my way when lining up with other artifacts. Can i modify them as is turn the blocks off / make transparent?

  See Show or Hide Layer Controls in the Composition Panel:
  https://helpx.adobe.com/after-effects/using/modifying-using-views.html#show_or_hide_layer_controls_in_the_composition_panel

  For aligning layers, you can also use the Align panel:
  https://helpx.adobe.com/after-effects/using/selecting-arranging-layers.html#align_or_distribute_layers_in_2d_space

  And if you have Ae CC or higher, you can use snapping:
