I found out that you cannot apply the wiggle expression onto both Position and Orientation. You must only apply it to only one, either Position or Orientation. But I wanna make a faux camera shake effect where two things must be conjoined, i.e. Position wiggle and Orientation wiggle but I’m stuck here. Mayday! Mayday!

This is what I want to do:

Layer 1: Camera [apple wiggle onto Position and Orientation]
Layer 2: Null object [parent it to Camera]
Layer 3: Footage [parent it to Null object]

    Thanks a million!

How did you arrive at that conclusion? That shouldn’t be a problem.

[Sebastian Lee] “Layer 1: Camera [apple wiggle onto Position and Orientation]
Layer 2: Null object [parent it to Camera]
Layer 3: Footage [parent it to Null object]”

If you actually set your composition up this way you won’t see any wiggle.

The Null parented to the camera will stay locked to the camera movement, and the footage parented to the Null will stay locked to the Null’s movement (and therefore camera’s). Since the footage and the camera would be moving in step with one another you would not see any perceived motion of the footage when looking through the camera.

    Makes sense?
