  Multiply one object to fill composition space?

  Hi,

  I’ve been fighting with this problem for a while.

  I have a shape (An X) that I want to pop up slowly at first, then speed up over time
  to randomly fill the entire composition space in a regular pattern. Is there a way of
  using an expression for this? Or an multiply effect that can be conformed to a grid?

  Aescripts.com has a layers2grid script that might help. I think they also have some random layer shifting scripts. You could keyframe one X to pop on, then duplicate it however many times you need before applying these scripts. Someone else probably could come up with an expression to do what you need, but I personally would just do it manually.
