  • Auto Orient Along Path and Rotation Values

    Hi, I have a rolly chair with 5 wheels and a 5 pointed piece. They wheels follow the rotation of a null and the position of the 5 pointed piece which follows the rotation of the null. The problem is, the null is set to auto orient along a motion path, BUT the auto orient command does not actually change the rotation value of the null for some reason, it just visually looks like its rotating. How can I get the individual wheels to auto orient so they are parallel to the motion path and operate how a real rolly chair would? Thanks.

    I’m not sure this is what you’re after, but it should give the actual world rotation of the null:”

    L = thisComp.layer(“Null 1”);
    v = L.toWorldVec([1,0]);
    radiansToDegrees(Math.atan2(v[1],v[0]))

    That worked perfectly thanks Dan!
