  manipulatable timer with milliseconds?

  Hi guys,

  This may be really simple, but I’m not an expressions guru…

  What I want to do with a text layer is have a 3 digit timer count from 0.00 > 9.69 (secs+hundredths)

  I want to be able to manipulate how long it does that over – eg: 2 seconds to count up.

  I’ve tried all the counter + timecode effects in AE and a couple of Dan Ebbert’s scripts, but the problem I’m having is that I can’t get it to stop on a certain millisecond, due to the 25fps thing.

  Closest I’ve got to what I want is a simple slider attached to source text and I type 0.00 at start of timeline and then a KF with 9.69 at 2 seconds. Problem is I get stuff like 4.845 at 1 second down the timeline. I only want 3 digits and 1 decimal place at all times..

  There must be an easy way…does anybody know a quick script?

  This should be all you need:

  displayStart = 0;
  displayStop = 9.69;
  runStartTime = 0;
  runStopTime = 2;

  t = linear(time,runStartTime,runStopTime,displayStart,displayStop);
  t.toFixed(2);
