Edit: Sorry, wrong forum. Re-posting this in the After Effects forum.

    Hey

I’ve had a look at various particle effects in After Effects but can’t seem to get what I’m looking for, so I’m bringing the question here.

Does anyone know how to create a grid of particles (doesn’t specifically have to use particles, but that’s the best way to describe what I’m thinking of) that can have a video playing over the top, with each particle, or ‘box’, playing 10×10 pixels of the video (for example). The boxes would have to have a slight gap between each other, so they’re not totally connected, and I’d also be looking for the particles in the grid to be flexing (gently stretching forwards and backwards, with the video moving with it.)

    Hopefully someone can help.

    Thanks

    Nick
