  fade sound using expressions: best strategy

  Hi

  I’m doing a video where short clips with original sound (drum hits) are triggered by markers.

  When a sample is cut at a random place by beginning nextr clip, a noticable click occures.
  What’s the best way to remove clicks at the end of samples?

  Fade out would be good, but how can I “predict” new marker appearance to start fading in advance?

  Maybe there can be some global “click removal” audio effect applied to the whole composition?

  Any other solution, that you faced in your practice?

  You could try an expression like this:

  fadeTime = thisComp.frameDuration;
  if (marker.numKeys > 0){
  linear (Math.abs(time – marker.nearestKey(time).time),0,fadeTime,[-192,-192],value)
  }else{
  value
  }
