Compositing question: using depth channel from C4D in AE to (also) blur edges
Hi all,
I have the following assets: beauty pass and depth pass from Cinema 4d. Goal: to have objects in space blur out according to depth pass info (so farther away from camera, the more blurry).
I’m using frischluft depth of field plugin to get this done. While I’m able to successfully comp/apply depth onto my beauty pass, the issue comes in around edges. Not their quality, but rather they’re not blurring. Objects themselves blur, but not their edges.
Question: what’s the best way to blur edges (also) according to their depth info? The scene looks totally weird with blurred objects and sharp/unaffected edges. I should also mention I’m new to using frischluft, so maybe there’s a simple setting I’m missing – sorry if that’s the case.
Thanks in advance!
