    Hi All,

Using AE CS6 and I’m completely stumped by this one…

I exported a Trapcode Particular sequence to a Quicktime .mov with an alpha channel so I could re-import it into the main comp to speed things up.

This is the exported clip as it appears in Quicktime:

However, when I re-import it into AE it looks like this:

    What have I done wrong…?

    Cheers!

You didn’t happen to use DNxHD in a 32bpc project did you? Alas such a pairing was never meant to be. There’s a long standing problem with the way DNxHD behaves in greater than 8bpc projects.

Even if you’re not using DNxHD, try using a different codec. If you need an alpha I’d recommend rendering to an image sequence unless that’s out of the question.
