    Hello there,
I am new to writing a post in this forum but have read quality responses and threads for a long time so here i am.

I am looking for a plug-in to help me create an effect that i saw in a Bouygues telecom advertisement here in Paris recently. The ad sees people and objects “dissolve” or de-materialise into cubes that then float away en masse.

I have started a job for a new hotel that is called “Cube” so it is perfect for what i want to do.

I would greatly appreciate anyone help on this to find the plug-in which i have heard exists somewhere.

    Thankyou.

Then >Commercials>Bouygues>Quicktime to see the original ad.

Hmmm….it sounds as if this effect involves disintegrating into ‘3d cubes’.

I am not sure of any plugs that would do ‘exactly’ that……I would personally do it in a 3D app, then composite in AE.

Good luck,….hopefully someone else knows of such a plug……..

Hey, I’m working on a Bouygues commercial right now. We’re using a similar effect with the cubes, alot of the work is done in 3d. No simple solution, just plan to have a clean plate of the footage, and get someone to run dynamic simulations in 3d. Also, if the camera is moving, you’ll need to do some 3d tracking.

I took a look at the commercial. Very cool. You’d have to do more than run a particle simulation. You’d have to actually create a 3d model of whatever it was you want to dematerialize and then composite it.

Just for inspiration purposes. Check out this Particle Issusion Tutorial from Elvis Deane. Maybe u can get an idea of how to fake the 3D Simulation by using 3D-Qubes as particles. It will not look as good ( exact) as the commercial. I also dont think that there is a special plugin for this kind of effect.

I don’t have time (or a terribly fast connection at the moment) to look at the add, but if you tweaked with some settings in Effect-Simulation-Shatter you might get something that’s workable for your usage.

Thanks very much for all your responses. i have found the trapcode plug-in “particular” which is as good as all my other plugins put together. I used the custom setting and made my own box which turns and i know have as many little cubes racing around the screen as i wish and dissolving where i want.
    Cheers!
