  preview query

  Hi

  ———–have a very complex comp with extremely long render and preview times.

  —– this causes problems making animation adjustments as AE automaticaly updates preview whenever I do anything which means its taking a very long time indeed to implement a few final tweaks.

  Anyone know if there is a setting please which gives the option to specify when AE updates preview —

  —- seen ‘live update’ but want application to wait for request……

  Depending on what you’re doing:

  1: Change settings under Fast Previews to Wireframe.

  2: Press Caps Lock on the keyboard to prevent the Comp Viewer from refreshing until the Caps Lock is released.

  3: Under Fast Preview preferences change the Adaptive Resolution Limit to 1/16.

  4: Turn on Draft 3D so that lights/shadows etc are not calculated.

  thanks Brian – much appreciated

  – theres a couple there I hadnt thought of – the caps button is probably the answer – dont know how that one escaped me !

  ………. suppose I was also wondering if there was a ‘magic’ setting somewthere ……
